Austin Marathon- Austin, Texas- February 16

Endurance Reno team member Liz O’Neal ran tough in hilly and humid conditions in Austin, Texas. Liz finished with a very solid time of 4:55:14. Running in humidity is not fun for Renoites who are used to dry conditions—excellent work to tough it out Liz!

You’ve Gotta Be Crazy Run—Verdi, California—February 16

The annual You’ve Gotta Be Crazy Run in Verdi typically serves as a “rust-buster” race for local runners since it is the first local race of the year. Despite a very hilly course and some nasty headwinds, Lupe Cabada showed total domination in this two-loop 10k race. Lupe led all runners through the 5k then blazed through another lap of the course to finish first in an outstanding time of 36:26 (new course record!). This is definitely the first of many wins for Lupe this year! Congrats on a fantastic performance!

Danny Heinsohn also ran a very strong 10k at this race (time not available). Danny has been running really strong lately and proved this once again yesterday. Look for Danny to run an excellent half marathon at the Bidwell Classic in Chico, California on March 1. Sarah Raitter ran the 10k race and finished as second lady and third overall in a time of 40:55.

In the slightly-less crazy 5k race, Endurance Reno’s Dave Zaski finished second overall. Dave always competes well and
yesterday was no exception. Great work Dave! The Killer Keens (Casey and Chelsea) both ran excellent races, with Casey finishing first in his age group and Chelsea finishing third in hers. Casey won the “Completely Crazy” award for the weekend by biking 30 miles against gnarly winds to the race, then killing it in the 5k 😉

What’s up next? Look for E-teamers at the Bidwell Classic half marathon on March 1 and expect to see TONS of podium finishes from Endurance Reno and Endurance Sparks athletes at the Napa Valley Marathon and 5k on March 2.

Happy Running!
